District Governor Andrew Gillespie

Our District Governor, Andrew Gillespie is a second-generation Rotarian.  Andrew and his wife Susan recently returned to Hervey Bay, where he spent much of his childhood.  Andrew has enjoyed fellowship and passionately accepted leadership roles in the Rotary Clubs of Townsville, Darwin, Mission Beach, and Hervey Bay City, also serving as an Assistant Governor in District 9550.

Andrew is the Principal Consultant at Barefoot Thinking Pty Ltd.  After a thirty-five-year career in the energy industry, Andrew started Barefoot Thinking to pursue his passion of leadership, strategy and business improvement.  Andrew holds qualifications in business management, electrical and electronic systems engineering, project management, quality,and incident investigation as a private investigator.  Andrew is a qualified accreditation auditor in several human services schemes including heath and aged care, the National Disability Insurance Scheme, the Diagnostic Imaging Accreditation Scheme and Human Services Quality Framework (Queensland). 

When he’s not working with clients to assist them achieve their business goals, Andrew can be found helping families through significant life changing events as an active wedding and funeral celebrant.  And his Australian Cattle dog Lucy and sundowner cat Max both demand his attention at home.
